Oh Robinson, what a game changer huh?  Love ’em or hate ’em it would seem that almost all helicopter folks have an opinion on them and not too many are down the middle on their stance.  I would like to give a shout out to Frank Robinson and all the folks over there and let them know I’m a big fan.  Now now, haters don’t unite against me, hold on a second and let’s talk this through.  I’m going to be presenting a LOT of topics on Robinson aircraft because, well I’ve worked on them a LOT.  I’ll make this deal with the audience though:  I will always attempt to maintain my integrity by presenting FACTS vs. OPINIONS.  While yes, I am entitled to my own opinions, as are all of us.  I am NOT entitled to my own facts.  It is my purpose here to dive into some of the more contentious and grey topics of R22, R44, and R66 operation so that maybe, just maybe we can make those grey areas just a little bit smaller and I and my co-authors can, in our own small way impact the safety of Robinson flight in a positive direction ok?  I welcome any and all input on these topics as long as it is respectful and constructive in nature.  We don’t have to agree, but posting comments such as “Robinson sucks” is just useless drivel.  If you are of that opinion, please, enlighten the discussion with some facts or at least some examples to elevate the level of discourse.  Onward….. shall we?
